Head of Studies

Members of the Head of Studies Department are elected by the teaching staff according to the electoral regulations.

The Director of Studies for both the AMM and the BBB degree courses, one on the Mannheim and one on the Schwerin campus, coordinate the range of courses according to the accredited Bachelor curricula. They ensure the smooth running of the degree programmes, thus contributing to a correct, complete, coherent range of courses coordinated within and across both campuses. They can be contacted by both teaching and administrative staff as well as students, to resolve issues regarding the courses offered within the Bachelor programmes on campus.

One of the Director of Studies' tasks for the work-related courses involves the coordination of terms on campus and terms on internship in the Bachelor programmes, the organisation of practical assignments for the internships across campuses as well as the further developing of close communication and liaison between the university and the BA's departments.

The Director of Studies is the contact person for students as well as for their internship placement to clarify any fundamental issues during the practical term.

The role of the Director of Studies for further academic training primarily involve using existing committees (senate, commission for further academic training) und formats (meetings for Master lecturers, university lecturers' meetings, quality dialogues with students) to discuss and promote both the exchange and continuing development of further academic training. The goal is to integrate further academic training as a viable, coherent concept for the university and establish it as an independent pillar within what we offer.
