Staff Mobility
Travelling for Lectures
Programme Overview
Erasmus+ promotes guest lectorships at European partner universities. One of the objectives of the stay, amongst others, should be to complement what is already offered by the partner university as well as to develop new teaching materials.
Mobility for the Purpose of Teaching
Erasmus+ promotes mutual collaboration with guest lecturers from European universities which have a valid Erasmus Charter for universities (ECHE). Guest lecturers should boost the European dimension of the university through their stay, complement the courses offered and pass on their specialist knowledge to students who are not able or do not want to study abroad.
If possible, the development of mutual study programmes as well as the exchanging of teaching methods and materials should also play a role.
Staff at foreign companies and organisations may also be invited to German universities for lecturing purposes.
Staff mobility must be an Erasmus+ programme country which is not the same country as the one the staff member is being sent from and not the country where the person lives.
Stays within Europe are generally between two days and two months (excluding travelling time); at least eight hours are to be taught per stay/per week or part thereof respectively.
The following groups of people are eligible for support:
- Professors and lecturers who have a contract with the university
- Lecturers without funding
- Lecturers with work contracts
- Emeritus professors and retired teachers
- Research staff
- Company staff
