Academia
A project within Erasmus+
The Academia Network
Academia is an exchange project within the Erasmus+ programme which provides those working in career services with the chance to enhance their skills and professional knowledge through work experience in a European context.
The main objectives of the ACADEMIA exchange are to support best practice examples as well as to build and expand a specialist network in other European countries.
Every year, about 250 career counsellors across Europe take part in the exchange programme. Training courses generally last one week and take place between February and May. Participants receive funding for travel and accommodation costs depending on the country where the programme is and the actual distance between the starting point and destination of their Erasmus mobility.
During the training week, participants visit different organisations which are primarily in the fields of school, vocational and adult education. Other features of the programme include technical presentations on pre-selected topics, observation of counselling sessions and group discussions.
Possible topics
- Drop-out prevention of university and apprenticeship students
- Transition between school and work
- Development of professional and social skills
- Validation of non-formal and informal learning
- E-counselling etc.
The working languages of the programme are English, French, Spanish or German (depending on the exchange country). As proof they took part, participants receive a "Europass Mobility" document, certifying their training in the European country.
HdBA employees involved in vocational training and counselling are also able to take part in an exchange and to receive funding through the Erasmus+ programme.
