Comprehensive student support
Port of Call for Student Matters
Student Services is one of the central institutionsessential to the university operations of the HdBA.
This is where students find comprehensive support throughout their entire degree.
Student Services is the point of contact for most matters concerning students.
Student Advisory Service, amongst others:
- Advice on all points mentioned in this list
- Advice on services provided to help with mental health
- Enrolment, acknowledgement and de-registration
- Receipt and processing of sick notes, applications for holiday and business trip requests
- Collection, recording and maintenance of core data in the university software
- Providing of general information (contact people in the university, materials, internal regulations ...)
- Information on academic operations and examinations (Information sheets, notices and events)
- Dividing of students into groups (aside from subgroups)
- Implementation of the selection process for major fields of study
- Approval of work placements
- Provision of information sheets on work placements A - D
- Issuing of student ID cards
- Issuing of confirmation documents (e.g. enrolment certificates)
- Verification of student educational qualifications
- Allocation of postboxes and lockers (including key management)
- Provision of student support with any arising issues
- In Mannheim: Collecting and provision of information on accommodation
- In Schwerin: room management
- Receipt, storing and handing out of lost property
- Receiving of official post for students
- Organisation of necessary official calls for students
- Recording of all examination results (incl. Bachelor-thesis) in the university software
- Results are released through the web-based software QISPOS.
- Organisational support for students with Bachelor-thesis (communication of regulations, registration of topic ...)
- Issuing of examination documents: Transcripts of records, Bachelordegree certificates, Bachelordocuments, Diploma supplement, Notifications of failed examinations (incl. copy of examination)
- Organisation of resits (unless arranged by the lecturer concerned)
- Informing the students (and agencies/IS) of passed Bachelor examinations
- Organisation of examination paper review (generally carried out in groups)
- Archiving of examinations
- Provision of assessment sheets for examinations
- Receiving of work placement reports to be handed on to teaching staff
- Support in the application process to the Examination Board:
- Receiving of applications or other similar documents to the Examination Board (recognition of examination results, reasonable adjustments of examinations, applications for a second resit, appeals, withdrawal requests ...)
- Assistance with the implementation of reasonable adjustments approved by the Examination Board
