One of the aims of the European Commission's "Europe 2020 Strategy for Growth and Jobs" is to help 75 % of the population between 20 and 64 years old to find employment. This strives to support the project "Skill Up", by driving the ("employability“) of graduates through a stronger connection between university and college curricula and the working world using authentic learning scenarios and career counselling. Authentic learning scenarios are characterised by anticipating the requirements of the real working world so as to lead graduates to future jobs. Skill Up aims to use existing innovative learning approaches and IT-based methods, making them applicable in such a way that the transfer of results on a European scale is possible. Intersectoral cooperation should also be strengthened so as to enable graduates to better meet the demands of the real working world.

• Development of good practices scenarios from the member states, where graduates receive especially solid support or are in a good position for meeting the requirements of future work.
• Improvement of students' technical and personal skills in preparation for employment.
• Development of methods and guidelines for establishing the ability to work for multipliers and decision-makers in the education sector.
• Improvement of access to career counselling services for students, including a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course).
• Implementation of an ITplatform for the exchange of experiences and measures to establish graduates' ability to work for (future) employers and those involved at universities.
