Project Description

The integration of the generation 50+ into the European labour market is becoming more and more relevant. It is therefore important to support employees and those seeking employment over the age of 50 with the help of specialised information and counselling. At the moment there is very little on offer in this field by way of guidance. On top of that, age-management is not yet a satisfactory element in strategies in human resources development.

InCounselling 50+ develops innovative and holistic counselling concepts using a combination of available counselling ideas and human resources development. Human resources managers and career counsellors are part of the second group. Through private partner companies, concepts can be applied directly to be tested and adapted. InCounselling 50+ will develop concepts to take into account the various conditions of European labour markets and occupations.

The three countries involved, Germany, Poland and Croatia, represent different labour markets with different development tendencies in the field of working with people over the age of 50. While in Germany there is a lack of specialists, a tendency can be observed in Poland and Croatia where employment rates for those over 50 are being lowered in order to make way for the younger generation. Those over 50 are at a disadvantage as they face increasing competition from younger people due to a lack of skills. The project is coordinated by the University of Applied Labour Studies.
