The future of Europe lies in the hands of our youth. However, looking at the financial crisis, the outlook in many European states for the young generation and young adults seems bleak. Their professional mobility in Europe is becoming more and more important in this respect, as is counselling and support through qualified counsellors for training and employment.

The EU project "Guide My W@y" aims to actively support training and career counsellors (EURES, national, regional and local advisors) regarding the advising on the professional mobility of teenagers and young adults. The project revolves around the development of a European counselling concept for the international and circular mobility of teenagers and young adults as well as the provision of the relevant onlinematerial and -tools.

Together with researchers and EURES counsellors from the partner countries involved in the project - Germany, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic and Lithuania - the project has developed and provides the following measures and products:

• A European counselling concept for training and career counsellors that comprises the basics of counselling methods as well as central content on international youth mobility.
• An interactive online portal where the target group of the training and career counsellors has access to the counselling concept developed within the project, an online course as well as a virtual classroom.
• Further training and onlinetraining for training and career counsellors in online tools developed within the project such as the virtual classroom. Alongside teaching the basis of the counselling concept itself, participants are assisted in integrating onlinetools in their work.

The Zentrale Auslandsvermittlung der Bundesagentur für Arbeit (ZAV - Central Overseas and Specialist Placement Agency), the universities of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and Brünn (Cezech Repbulic), the national employment agency in Kattowitz (Poland), EURES advisors from Pilsen, Brünn and Prague (Czech Republic), Kattowitz (Poland) and Vigo (Spain), lernmodule.net (Germany) as well as the Technical University in Kaunas (Lithania) are still involved in the project.

In 2017, the Guide my W@y project was recognised as a success story by an expert committee of the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the "European" Commission.
