Project Description
CMinaR is the acronym for "Counselling for Refugee and Migrant Integration into the Labour Market – Development of Courses for Higher Education and Public Employment Services". With the support of a network consisting of six universities and of the European Union, we would like to develop study and further education seminars to prepare counsellors (future as well as the more experienced) specifically for career counselling for refugees seeking advice.
The starting point was the Delphi Study of 2011 through the German network Integration through Qualification on specific topics and needs which come up in career counselling when those seeking advice have fled from other countries (cf. Kohn 2011).
CMinaR is carrying out a comparable study with respect to this target group of refugees in the six partner countries. On this basis, and with the help of a comprehensive collection of material on this subject, learning content and teaching methods are developed for this specific form of counselling .
These concepts are being implemented in pilot seminars for students of the career counselling degree programmes as well as in further training for more experienced counsellors. A comprehensive media pool will then make all results available online.
