Research Structures

Tasks:

The ZaFET supports researchers in all phases of the project cycle, from providing advice on financial possibilities to the submitting of applications and project preparation through to the execution, dissemination and documentation of research and development projects.

This includes the administration of funds, contractmanagement and also the responsibility for the research budget as well as that of international affairs. As requested by researchers, the ZaFET also offers funding options as well as active support in submitting applications and the execution of projects. However, the inclusion of the ZaFET in the calculation of project budgets, in contractmanagement and project documentation is compulsory for all researchers at the HdBA.

The ZaFET reports to the rector of the HdBA, Prof. Dr. Andreas Frey, and acts as his advisor on the strategic development of research at the HdBA. It is also responsible for quality assurance in the field of research and researchcontrolling. In addition, the ZaFET supervises and supports the HdBA's Research Commission.

Tasks:

The Research Commission implements internal research funding for the university. In particular, this includes advising on and deciding on applications for the reduction of teaching hours, research sabbaticals and funding from the research budget.

The Research Commission is also responsible for drawing up the research budget.

In addition to that, the Research Committee is in charge of fundamental tasks in the further development of infrastructure and processes in the field of research, and acts as a strategic advisor to the rector. Funding for research projects from the university's research budget is subject to a reporting obligation to the Research Commission. The same applies to granted research sabbaticals.
