Project Description
In the past few years, German-speaking universities have developed numerous onlineuniversity entrance tests, so-called online self-assessments (OSA). There are now so many tests that it is easy to lose track.
For this reason, the overview page for prospective students and for academic experts as well as specialists from counselling practice has been developed:
- Prospective students with little idea of what to study are given an overview of the current general university orientation procedure. Once they have decided on a direction, they can call up various available tests on the portal, fill in any that they are especially interested in and compare the tests with each other.
- Counsellors receive further information on the quality of the tests alongside a general overview. This way, they can advise prospective students individually on tests and include them in their counselling.
- Providers of online self-assessments receive an overview of the existing (competitors') services and can compare them with their own. At the same time, the website serves as a knowledge portal for research and development surrounding the topic of OSA.
The OSA portal is a mutual project of the University of Applied Labour Studies (Prof. Dr. Stefan Höft) and the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (University of Applied Sciences and Arts, northwest Switzerland) (Prof. Dr. Benedikt Hell).
Alongside this conceptual work at this interface between academic and (counselling) practice, this project and its research questions are actively integrated into HdBA teaching and student project work.
