Arbitration procedures
The National Government Commissioner of Matters relating to Disabled Persons runs an arbitration board in accordance with § 16 of the BGG. Persons with disabilities can contact the arbitration board if they believe that their rights have been infringed by a national public body under the regulations laid out in the BGG.
You can turn to the arbitration board if you are not satisfied with the response of the aforementioned contacts. It is not about there being a winner or a loser. The aim is to enlist the help of the arbitration board and together find a solution to the problem out of court.
The arbitration process is free of charge. You also do not require legal representation.
On the internet page of the Arbitration Board you can find everything you need to know about the arbitration process. There you can read about how the arbitration process works and how you submit the arbitration application . You can also submit the application in easy-to-read language or in German sign language .
