The University of Applied Labour Studies is also known as the HdBA.
Please find information on our universities in the towns of Mannheim and Schwerin here.

What can you Study at the Universities?

You can study the following three degree courses at both universities:

  • Bachelor Degree: Labour Market Management
    Arbeitsmarkt-Management is pronounced: a-beits-maakt-men-nitsch-ment.
    Here you can learn, for example:
    • How do I advise companies?
    • How do I find employees and trainees?
    • How do I find work for people who are looking?
    You can go on to study for a Master after completing the Bachelor programme.
  • Bachelor Degree: Education, Career and Employment Counselling
    Here you learn how to advise customers of the National Employment Agency.
    For example:
    • Which job is right for which customer?
    • What support is there for customers who have no work?
    • What further training is available to customers?
    You can go on to study for a Master after completing the Bachelor programme.
  • Master Degree: Labour Market-oriented Counselling
    Here you learn more about the subjects you did for the Bachelor degree.
    Before starting the Master, you must have completed a Bachelor programme.

A Bachelor degree lasts three years at the universities.
You receive your tuition at the university.
And you also learn about the work the National Employment Agency does.
This is called an "integrated degree programme".
The Master programme takes 2.5 years.

What Else Does the University Have to Offer?

National Employment Agency workers can take part in further education courses at the universities.
These courses are called academic further education.

Professors work on research projects.
These include:

  • Research projects for other institutions who pay univerisities for this research.
    This is called third-party funding.
  • own research projects
  • research projects in cooperation with the National Employment Agency

The University of Applied Labour Studies is also known as the HdBA.

Left of that, you can see all information in sign language and in easy language.

Change Contrast

Our homepage consists of black writing against a white background.
This way, you can read everything well.
In the top right corner, you can change the contrast of the website.
Please click on the word: Contrast.
Then you can see more of a frame around the text.
This way, you can see the different texts even better.

Change Font Size

In the top right corner, you can change the size of the text.
Please click on the + next to the word "font size".
Then the font will appear larger.
Please click on the - next to the word "font size".
Then the font will appear smaller.
Please click on the arrow between the + and -.
Then everything goes back to the way it was.

information on these topics.
In the section Downloads there is information in PDF files for downloading.
In the section Further Links you can find other internet sites
which could be interesting to you.
