The basis for doctoral studies
Labour Market-Oriented Counselling (Master of Arts)
The part-time Master degree course Labour Market-Oriented Counselling (M.A.) has been offered at the HdBA since October 2015. 120 ECTS credits can be achieved in the five semesters that this further education course offers. Upon completion, the student has the degree Master of Arts and has the basis for a possible doctorate at a later date. The acquired skills are often recognised at other universities as well as the respective work experience or other extra-curricular skills.
The aim of the Master degree course at the HdBA is to consistently further develop the students' knowledge and skills, especially in labour market-oriented counselling. Supporting counselling skills in changing labour markets contributes to preparing for the challenges for the future and to securing the performance of the National Employment Agency (BA). During the studies, students gain counselling related commercial skills in the fields of education and work, the labour market and labour-market policies as well as management and leadership. All three fields are connected to counselling. In the third and fourth semesters, students can elect courses which delve deeper. Teaching and research projects form the basis for writing the Master dissertation in the fifth semester.
