Placement
Placement certificate programme
The Placementcertificate programme has been provided at both the Mannheim and Schwerin campus of the University of Applied Labour Studies since November 2016 and stretches over two semesters. The programme starts in January and ends in December, and every study cohort is limited to 80 participants.
The aim of the "Placement" certificate programme is to develop an academically sound understanding of professional placement and counselling and to reflect on such in a practical context, within employee-oriented placement and counselling of people experiencing all kinds of transitions into the education and employment system as well as in employer-oriented counselling. This further development of the placement specialists' advisory skills ensures a consistently high level of qualification in placement.
Selection and Admission
The placement certificate programme complements the qualification portfolio of the university, and is limited to 80 participants per study cohort. The programme aims at employees of the National Employment Agency who work in the operative areas of employee-oriented placement and counselling and have at least two years of experience in this field. Registration for participants for the placement certificate programme, which starts once a year, is through the regional offices at least eight weeks before the start of Group A following a request to the HdBA..
Certificate of Attendance / University Certificate
Participants receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the certificate programme. Those who would like to complete the certificate programme with a university certificate are asked to send in the documents required for the admission up to two weeks after the first on-campus phase. The admission procedure and the admission requirements for the certificate programme can be found in the admission regulations. Alongside a first degree qualifying for a profession or successfully completed job training, applicants must also be able to demonstrate at least two years of qualified professional experience as an employee in the legal system of SGB II or SGB III. The students' rights and obligations for contact studies are laid out in the study and examination regulations. Students receive detailed information on the admission procedure in the first on-campus session.
Course Content
Participants gain knowledge in the field of professional skills, in particular knowledge about the person being counselled and the reference systems surrounding them as well as their interaction, for the academically based further development of placement and counselling skills.
Compulsory Modules
Compulsory module 01 ("Target group & context-specific counselling") and 02 ("Professional background and skills") focus on counselling competencies and are used to expand knowledge in conjunction with the skills already acquired in the BA's internal basic qualification and experience gained from professional practice. This allows participants to reflect upon and further develop their own understanding of professional counselling, especially through an understanding of professional background and skills.
The third module of the certificate programme is an elective module. Here, participants can choose between deepening their knowledge of "The future of work" or "Participation in working life".
