Prof. Dr. Katja Görlitz ist seit September 2019 Professorin für Volkswirtschaftslehre mit dem Schwerpunkt Arbeitsmarktökonomik und Arbeitsmarktpolitik an der HdBA am Campus Mannheim.

Seit September 2019 ist Prof. Dr. Görlitz Professorin für Volkswirtschaftslehre mit dem Schwerpunkt Arbeitsmarktökonomik und Arbeitsmarktpolitik an der HdBA. Zwischen 2013 und 2019 war sie Juniorprofessorin für Arbeitsmarkt- und Sozialpolitik an der Freien Universität Berlin. Promoviert wurde sie 2010 an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Während ihrer Promotions- und Postdoc-Zeit war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am RWI - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung in Essen angestellt. Ihr Studium absolvierte Prof. Dr. Görlitz an der TU Berlin, der Lund Universität in Schweden sowie der WU Wien in Österreich.

Die Forschungsinteressen von Prof. Dr. Görlitz umfassen die Arbeitsmarkt- und Bildungsökonomie sowie die angewandte Ökonometrie. Aktuelle noch unveröffentlichte Forschungsprojekte (Work in Progress) beschäftigen sich mit personalökonomischen Themen (z. B. Peer-Evaluationen), Geschlecht und Arbeitsmarkt sowie Chancengleichheit im Bildungssystem.

Sie hat in verschiedenen referierten und internationalen Fachzeitschriften publiziert, z. B. in Labour Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Economic Psychology and Economics & Human Biology. Außerdem war sie an diversen drittmittelfinanzierten Forschungsprojekten beteiligt, unter anderem als Leiterin des DFG-Projekts “Schooling and regional factors as determinants of employees' participation in further education” (SPP 1646).
